A hot North Carolina Team heads to Tallahassee tonight to take on Florida State. The Tar Heels are riding a three game win streak, and are playing their best basketball of the season. They’re coming off are coming off an impressive win over Virginia that improved them to 17-11 on the season and 10-6 in the ACC. Florida State will be a tougher test though. The Seminoles (16-11, 7-9) are coming off a tough loss to Louisville and have dropped six of their last nine games. Tip-off is set for 7:00 on WBT.

Guard Jamir Watkins is the star of this Seminole team, he’s averaging over 18 points a game and scored 23 against Louisville Saturday. He starts alongside Daquan Davis and Chandler Jackson. The Noles have a lot of height and have a pair of 6’10 forwards in the starting lineup in Taylor Bol Bowen and Malique Ewin, who averages 8 rebounds and 14 points per game. Ewin has been outstanding recently, with 43 points and 14 rebounds over the past two games. The Tar Heels have had more success playing with a bigger lineup recently, and will need another solid effort from Jae’lyn Withers and Ven-Allen Lubin tonight to slow down FSU’s big men.

Shooting the 3 will also be key tonight – only five teams have shot better than 40% against the Seminoles, and they’ve lost four of those five matchups. UNC has been hot from behind the arc the past three games, connecting on 46.9% of their shots. They’ll need to keep that going tonight if they want to come home with a win.

This should be a good game. There is no doubt UNC is not overlooking the Seminoles, they know how dangerous this team can be, especially in Tallahassee, where they’ve lost three of the last five matchups. UNC should be locked in and ready to extend their win streak. Go Tar Heels!
