Severe Storms Threaten Carolinas, Impact Charlotte Flights

Severe weather is expected to hit the Carolinas on Monday afternoon and evening, bringing the potential for damaging winds, hail, and tornadoes. Temperatures will start in the 60s with breezy conditions as winds move in from the south-southwest.
The storm system has already caused significant flight disruptions at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, with over 200 delays and 117 cancellations—primarily affecting American Airlines and PSA Airlines due to Charlotte’s role as an East Coast hub. Atlanta’s airport has also seen over 500 delays from the weather system.
While the storms are expected to pass through Charlotte in the afternoon, lingering showers will taper off overnight, making way for dry and sunny conditions for the rest of the work week.

Remember, in and around the watch areas will see the chance of severe storms; they don't stop at the county lines.
