A group of rocket fragments lit up the night skies over Washington and Oregon on Thursday. The phenomenon sent social media buzzing with extraordinary images and left people wondering what exactly they were witnessing. According to aerospace.org, a rocket named Falcon 9 R/B (ID 47782) that was launched from Cape Canaveral in Florida on March 4 reentered the earth’s atmosphere at approx. 11:41 p.m. ET.
